How to use rubber cork pads in subfloor

Procedures of floor sound insulation

  1. Be sure the concrete floor is flat and clean without bumps cracks.

  2. Lay the rubber cork pads on concrete floor in lines. Usually, 4 pads will be used for one square meter. Sometimes the rubber cork pads are used together with spring bumper.

  3. Stuff the space among each pads with acoustic glasswool as the below picture shows.

  4. Acoustic panel will be layed above the rubber cork pads. The gaps between two panels should be sealed. And the acoustic panel should seperate from the wall. 

  5. Sound deadening felt is layed above the acoustic panel. The gaps should also be sealed.

  6. Concrete of 30mm to 50mm thick will be poured above the felt. Steel frame is better to be used before pouring the concrete to ensure the concrete will be crack.

  7. Laying the floor finish such as granite flooring, ceramic tiles or wood flooring after the concrete dries.
